HE'S HERE!

Well, Beth went into labor at 10am on 10.23.2009. Noah was born at 343am on 10.24.2009 after 18 hrs of labor and 2 hrs of pushing.

He has one nose, one mouth, two eyes, two ears, 5 x 4 on the fingers and toes and is perfectly perfect in every way.

Beth is doing great and couldn't have been more incredible or amazing or beautiful over the last 25 hours. Pictures, video, audio, and unabridged birth story coming soon.

37:4 wk check up

Obvioiusly, I haven't had the baby yet, which is a good thing now, because only I end up getting sick during the last leg of my pregnancy. One of the many wonderful perks from working at a hospital. Thank goodness it's only a cold, so I did something I normally wouldn't do---I STAYED HOME FROM WORK TO REST!!! I felt a little guilty, but guess what? I am starting to get better--imagine that! The last thing I need is to be sick and in labor.

All is still good in the womb. I managed to gain the 1lb I lost last week back, bringing me back up to 15 big pounds. BP is wonderful, Noah's HR is strong and 145-150's. I've progressed some since last week. Now, I'm at the all famous 1cm dilated and 85% effaced, babies head is still way down (just ask my bladdar!). Basically, nothing too interesting since I could stay that way for the next 2 weeks or go into full blown labor in a hour (only in my dreams, right?!) Good thing is, my OB will not let me go past my due date. I LOVE her for that!! She says there is basically no reason, the baby is grown and developed and ready to meet mommy and daddy!! My bladdar couldn't take it any longer anyways. Poor Jason knows where every available public bathroom is located all around Orlando!

36 wk 4 day "fun" check-up!

All is well in babyland! My little polish ham is going to bake just a little bit longer and continue to give me that wonderful pressure feeling on my bladder! The braxton hicks contractions are more frequent now, which I guess is helping prepare my mom parts for real labor. Somehow I lost 1lb, so now I'm at 14lbs--OB said it's fine, so I'm okay with that! BP is great, Noah's HR is 145 and strong. My "check" went well. My cervix is 80% effaced, but no dilation yet =( She said his head is definitly way down in position, so I'm locked and loaded and ready to go! Mommy is hoping sooner than later, but it's not up to me, little man has to plan his break from jail on his own! Of course, being my child, it will be the grandest of entrances! So now we wait, and wait, and wait.... Although, the close and more anxious I get, I may resort to some self induction techniques.....

I guess I should pack my bag and get the carseat in the Jeep fairly soon, huh? Feel free to leave any comments of things that I should absolutely have in my hospital bag or something you found comforting, necessary, etc. I printed off the generic check list of items to take, but experienced mom's and dad's are always the best! Update everyone after next Wednesday's check-up.

35 wk 4 day check up

Soooo...little man is doing great! I've gained a whopping 2lbs this visit for a grand total of---15 big ones! Noah's HR is 145-153 and I have dropped quite a bit. Now, I can breathe so much better, but, unfortunately, my bladdar is taking the load of it---literally! It feels like he's knocking on my cervix door. That makes for a cranky, grumpy mommy! (Jason may use some other adjectives to describe it though) I'm getting those wonderful Braxton Hicks contractions--who I assume was named after a man, b/c they really, really suck! Can't wait for the real thing. Thank goodness for Mr. Epidural! I'm getting that "burst of energy" all the articles say you get before labor starts. I don't know where is comes from b/c sleeping has now become a chore. The simple effort of rolling over now requires me waking up and exerting a physical effort, not to mention the constant urge to pee all the time! The joys of the last month of pregnancy. I really am beginning to wish the whole stork and baby drop off story was true :). Some little things to finalize: packing a bag, organizing the nursery (pics will come, I promise!) and install the carseat.

I am now going to the OB every week, so next week is my "check" to see if I have started to make any progress with getting this guy out. I'm sure you will all look forward to that update next week ;)! Until then, trying to enjoy the last month of freedom and cryless nights, with the exception of my "other" son, Duke, who wakes me every night between 1:30-2am faithfully to go potty. So, the no sleep thing---got it covered! We're going to Halloween Horror nights at Universal Studios Saturday night--maybe I can spook the kid out!
