Ultrasounds, weight, measurements, la la la

This week I've had 2 MD appts. Monday I went to the perinatalogist for my 2/3 visit to check my cervix. Everything looks great and the baby is still right on target. Since we already know it's a boy, this ultrasound, he decided to show us the family jewels at every opportunity! That's my boy, and what a boy he is!!!

I just had my regular OB visit today. Even though we had a dessert potluck today at work, I only managed to gain 1.5lbs this month!! Yeah!!! I'm up to a grand total of 7.5lbs gained. Not too shabby for 5 months. MD says I'm doing great with my weight. This kid must eating me out of house and home literally! Although, I think my stomach did shrink, I can only eat small meals now or it's being squished upwards. She took my first fundal measurement which is exactly 20cm. Perfect correlation with my weeks, since I'll be 21 weeks Saturday. So for now baby, keep growing and using my uterus as a springboard! He kicked poor Duke yesterday while he was lying on my lap. Poor monkey!

My uterus, the bounce house

So, I have a penis growing inside me...Already, the little guy was being very stubborn during our ultrasound. Definitly my child! We got to see his brain, all four chambers of the heart, kidneys, stomach, spine, bladdar, femur bones and of course--the money shot! It took quite a bit of coaxing to get the little guy to show his junk (and he better be that way until he's 30yrs old!). We made an earthquake in my belly, his arms were waving everywhere, but no bottom shot. Apparently my uterus is very comfortable. We ended up getting the picture when the tech did the transvaginal ultrasound. He was sitting right on top of my cervix. I have to go to the perinatologist for 2 more visits to ensure my cervix is "competent" due to an old LEEP procedure I had like 12 years ago. Everything looks great for me and the baby. His heart, brain and neck are measuring right on target. Quad screen was normal. All is well in baby land! Yeah!

Daddy was able to feel the baby kick the crap out of me a couple days ago. I have a feeling I'm in big trouble later on when I get become huge, say good-bye diaphram. So from now to the end of the pregnancy, my uterus is a giant bounce house. I should start charging admission...

We just registered today at Babies R Us and Target. There is so much to choose from and everything is so cute!! We will keep you posted on what's going on next. Still no names yet. Add comments with suggestions to our posts!

Penis or Vagina?

So far all is good! My quad screen came back normal and we are going on Monday June 8th @ 2:30 to find out what's growing between those legs! I just hope the little one cooperates and isn't shy. Wait, who am I kidding...this is my kid! I will post it with pics after my appt. Make your bets now b/c I have no "feeling" on what it is. I have never wanted a Monday to come so fast!
