1st Prenatal Visit

Went for my first prenatal visit and everything went awesome! Found out I only gained about 3 pounds (but this was an appt after lunch, so....). All my vitals are good, the vampires took lots of blood, and finally heard the baby's heartbeat! It was really weird knowing there is something living in me! The heartbeat was strong and around 170-173. Isn't there some wives tale that a high heart rate is a girl?! It's starting to feel a little more real, but I guess once I feel the baby kicking or moving, it will sink in totally. So, now comes all the fun stuff....finding a pediatrician, daycare, no question about birthing---I'm taking the epidural!! Thanks to my sister-in-law, I found out what happens down there! Love ya Marcy! So any advise, experiences or what I need for the baby so when registration comes around for fun kid stuff, I'd appreciate it! Until then, I'm feeling great, and will keep you posted!

Almost 3 months!

Yeah! Almost done with the week, and 2 more days until I hit that "magical" 3 month mark. I've been really, really lucky so far. No real morning sickness, just the occassional wave of nausea after I take those delicious horse pills in the morning. Usually a gulp of OJ helps! I'm slowly getting my energy back, still pass out around 9:30 at night though. No longer want to slip into a coma after lunch anymore--decaf coffee doesn't cut it! Sort of wanting more sweets and fruit, especially pineapple. I never eat fruit, always veggies. Crazy baby hormones. And what's with the zits??? I feel like I'm in high school again. Ugh! Jason is so patient with me, getting a little snappy and grumpy (I know, me? No way!) We're both getting really excited now that it appears that this one is going to stick with us. Jason always has some new website he found full of crazy baby stuff or advice...

Next week Thursday is my first pre-natal exam. Hoping to hear the heartbeat. Will keep everyone updated as my lovely non-flat belly continues to get gigantic!!
